Anthony Richardson left the Indianapolis Colts game against the Houston Texans in the second quarter on Sunday after taking a big hit.

The rookie quarterback from Florida has now been ruled out with a concussion, Joel Erickson reports. Gardner Minshew came into the game to replace Richardson and managed to lead the Colts to a touchdown on his first drive.

Before leaving the game, Richardson picked up 56 passing yards along with a pair of rushing touchdowns. Richardson took a hard fit on his way into the end zone on his second touchdown, but he stayed in the game for the next 2 series before being pulled out.

In his debut last week, he had 223 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception in the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

While the Colts are hoping to get their rookie quarterback on the field soon, they are managing fine without him, leading the Texans 21-7 as the second quarter nears an end.

Richardson was drafted 4th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Colts after a standout sophomore season at Florida. Last season for the Gators, Richardson logged 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns.
