Anthony Richardson is in a class by himself with his latest rushing touchdown.
The former Florida QB scored the fourth rushing TD of his rookie season in Indianapolis’ Sunday game against the Los Angeles Rams. Richardson now has a rushing touchdown in each of his first 3 starts, a first among NFL quarterbacks. Sunday’s Week 4 game is Richardson’s third start of the season after he missed the Colts’ Week 3 contest in concussion protocol.

Richardson’s rushing touchdown cut the Rams’ lead to 23-15 in the 4th quarter. He then led a scoring drive of 83 yards over 13 plays that was capped by his second TD pass of the day. After the successful 2-point conversion to tie the game, Richardson’s game stats are 11-of-22 for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns.
As Scott Hanson noted on the NFL RedZone broadcast, it’s especially impressive when considering legendary running quarterbacks Mike Vick and Cam Newton did not achieve the feat in their first 3 starts.
The Colts opened the season at home against Jacksonville. Richardson had both rushing and passing scores in the 31-21 loss to the Jaguars. In Week 2, Richardson had 2 rushing scores in Indianapolis’ 31-20 win over CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans.
Sunday’s game is in the final minutes, airing on FOX.
