Anthony Richardson is Florida’s backup quarterback. Coach Dan Mullen continues to make it clear that Emory Jones is the starter, and that was the case on Saturday at USF.

However, when Richardson is on the field, excitement is sure to follow. In the first half against the Bulls, he was electric.

His first pass of the game found WR Jacob Copeland for a 75-yard touchdown:

Later in the first half, Richardson and Copeland connected again, this time for a 41-yard score:

Jones isn’t playing poorly by any means. The Florida offense is absolutely trouncing an overmatched USF defense so far.

But, fans and media members took to Twitter during the first half to heap praise on Richardson. Some are even thinking Richardson has Heisman potential moving forward:

We’ll see how much playing time Richardson gets in the second half. At the halftime break, Florida leads 35-3.
