The debut of Feleipe Franks did not go as planned for Gator fans.

After a lengthy QB battle, head coach Jim McElwain decided to start Franks against Michigan in the opening game of the season. Unfortunately for Florida, the offense has struggled heavily out of the gates.

Franks was 5-for-9 for 75 yards with five carries for seven yards, and the offense has yet to produce a TD through nearly three quarters of play. Florida was forced to make a change, and the first QB off the bench for the Gators was Notre Dame transfer Malik Zaire.

Florida’s defense has kept the Gators in the game with two pick-sixes and a blocked punt, but the offense is in desperate need of a spark if they are to avoid losing to the Wolverines.
