Billy Napier and Florida (5-4) won’t have an easy path to avoid a 3rd consecutive loss as they travel to face No. 19 LSU (6-3) on Saturday night.

Florida is looking to get back on track after back-to-back losses to Georgia and Arkansas. LSU wants to return to the win column after a 42-28 loss against Alabama.

ESPN Analytics gives LSU an 87.4 percent chance of beating Florida. A large part of that is because of the Tigers’ potent offense anchored by senior quarterback Jayden Daniels. LSU ranks 3rd nationally with 45.2 points per game.

During a recent press conference, Napier expressed that LSU’s offense poses many serious threats to opposing defenses.

“It’s a Catch-22. You’ve got elite skill at receiver, and then you pair with a tight end that’s very savvy who can get open and separate with matchups as well, and then the backs are a threat,” Napier said. “The quarterback is the trump card because of the athleticism.”

Napier believes that Daniels’ improvisational abilities on 3rd down places plenty of pressure on a defense.

“Our research would say that the best 3rd-down teams are the ones that have an athletic quarterback, and often times can get you out of a scenario, or when the defense does a good job of matching the pattern,” Napier said. “The quarterback’s ability to escape and extend and make plays with his feet. So LSU fits in that category. There’s a reason why they have the No. 1 statistical offense in the country and certainly 3rd down being a part of that.”

Florida has allowed at least 39 points in its last 3 games, so the defense will have to step up in order to give the Gators any chance of an upset.

Florida at LSU is set for 7:30 p.m. EST (SEC Network).
