Bill Napier’s Florida had a tough week after losing to one of the worst teams in the SEC.

The Gators were looking promising and defying expectations this season, but the loss to Arkansas proved Florida still has a long way to go. Arkansas’ 39-point performance against the Gators comes following a 7-3 loss to Mississippi State.

Following the performance, USA Today’s Dan Wolken put Florida at the top of this week’s “Misery Index,” which highlights the most miserable teams of the week.

Florida fans had much to be excited about after Napier’s first season with the Gators last year, but now it seems Napier might not be in Gainesville for the long haul.

“As Georgia has become the nation’s dominant program and Florida State has ascended to a College Football Playoff caliber outfit, Napier hasn’t shown that he’s the game-changer to get Florida back on that level,” Wolken wrote.

While Florida likely won’t jump ship on Napier yet, another season of losing to team’s like Arkansas could mean that the Napier era is cut short.

“Can Florida stomach one more year of this just to see if there’s any possibility of this working, or is the anger going to be so intense that it’s time for yet another change in Gainesville?” Wolken wrote. “When you lose to Arkansas, it’s time to start asking those questions.”
