Billy Napier is pumping the brakes on all the hype surrounding Florida after its impressive win over No. 7 Utah on Saturday.

At his Monday press conference, Napier said the Gators still need to focus on responding to success the right way.

“I know we’re all ready to put the crown on the Gators but the Gators have a lot of work to do,” Napier said.

Asked about how to keep the team grounded after a win, Napier said to stay the course and keep working.

“You’ve got to operate in truth,” he said. “You hear the things you want to hear and don’t hear the things you need to hear.”

Napier was pleased with the offensive line, and praised its physicality while naming O’Cyrus Torrence among the players of the game: “I think that’s one of the areas where we played the way we want to play”

Napier also thanked the crowd and said it was a significant part of the game and created issues for Utah.

“We were fortunate to win the game, we were very pleased with the intangibles of the team,” Napier said. “We showed some mental toughness, I thought we showed some togetherness. We stuck together throughout the adversity of the game.”
