Billy Napier’s staff at Florida is coming together, and on Wednesday, he added a new offensive assistant.

Keary Colbert was hired as the Gators’ wide receivers coach after spending the past 6 seasons at USC. During his time with the Trojans, Colbert served as an offensive analyst from 2016-17, the tight ends coach in 2018 and the wide receivers coach from 2019-21.

Colbert and Napier worked together at Alabama from 2014-15. Colbert was an offensive analyst for the Crimson Tide, while Napier was the wide receivers coach, a position he held from 2013-16.

A wide receiver at USC from 2000-03, Colbert began his coaching career as a graduate assistant with the Trojans in 2010. He didn’t coach again until 2013, when he became the assistant wide receivers coach at Georgia State, a position he held for 1 season before leaving for Alabama.

Napier is entering his 1st season as the Florida head coach after spending the previous 4 seasons at Louisiana. He still has some spots to fill on his staff, but the addition of Colbert gives the Gators an experienced assistant to coach the wide receivers.
