Florida’s coaching staff continues to shuffle, and the latest move saw co-offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton leave for the Washington Commanders.

The Commanders on Thursday announced Stapleton as an assistant offensive line coach under new coach Dan Quinn. Stapleton spent the last 2 seasons with the Gators, as he was one of coach Billy Napier’s original additions to his staff, Stapleton was hired by the Gators ahead of the 2022 season as one of two full-time offensive line coaches along with current Florida offensive line coach Rob Sale.

Stapleton, who was an off-field offensive line assistant at Louisiana in 2021 under Napier, has also coached 3 players to the NFL.

Stapleton was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2007 to 2010 and was on the team that won Super Bowl XLIII at the end of the 2008 campaign.
