Billy Napier reaction: Florida fans, media members share thoughts on Gators' reported hire
It appears as if the first major domino on the 2021 college football coaching carousel has fallen.
Multiple media outlets are reporting Sunday that Louisiana coach Billy Napier will be announced in the near future as Florida’s next head coach.
SOURCES: Louisiana’s Billy Napier is expected to become the next head coach at UF. A deal is likely to be done this afternoon. As we reported yesterday morning he was the Gators clear front runner. Napier had been patient in recent years l looking for the right opportunity.

Napier has compiled a 39-12 record in 4 seasons as the Ragin’ Cajuns’ head coach, including an 11-1 mark this season.
The 42-year-old also previously spent time as an assistant coach at Alabama, Clemson, and Florida State.
As the first big coaching hire off the offseason, social media is abuzz with reaction to Florida’s impending hire.
Here’s a look at some of the comments that have been rolling in on Twitter early Sunday afternoon.
Like this a lot for Florida. @coach_bnapier has proven he can coach on game day and develop players. Florida running game would be legit in no time. https://t.co/XDpPvBztRH

Two things. First, LSU will regret not going after Napier harder. Second, I’m very upset that Florida is actually making a competent hire. This is not what I was wanting them to do in the slightest https://t.co/i7moSHCFhx

Billy Napier has been patient and waited it out at Louisiana Lafayette. Passed on other SEC and Power 5 jobs to wait on a Blue Blood program like the University Of Florida.

Billy Napier is a good hire for Florida. Going to be an instant jolt in recruiting standards in Gainesville.

Napier: Great coach, nice fit in Gainesville
Florida: Top 5 job in the sport, everything you need to win big is in place
Will it work? I don’t know man, all coaching hires are crapshoots ?♂️

Napier is everything that Mullen was not when it comes to organization and leadership. It all starts with recruiting elite Florida level kids. If this does not work we will do it all again in four years.
