Florida has lost some depth from its defense as Billy Napier reportedly dismissed a veteran linebacker from the team.

Diwun Black is no longer with the Gators, Gators Online reported. The move came on Sunday for undisclosed disciplinary reasons, according to a source close to the program. Black is no longer listed on the 2022 roster.

Black also posted to social media that he officially entered the transfer portal.

Black played in 4 games this season, and made 3 tackles against Eastern Washington and recovered an onside kick in the fourth quarter at Tennessee.

Last season, he appeared in 10 games and made 4 tackles. He was the No. 1-ranked JUCO recruit in the 2021 class and signed with UF out of high school.
