A former 5-star recruit, Cox began his college career at Georgia in 2018. Cox was reportedly dismissed from the Georgia football team in August 2019. He then transferred to Florida, where his career also ended in dismissal.
At Florida, Cox sat out the 2019 season due to transfer rules. In the shortened 2020 season, Cox played in 8 games, recording 24 tackles, including 6 TFL and 2 sacks. He earned second-team All-SEC recognition from the Associated Press for 2020.
Cox’s most productive season came in 2021. He played in 13 games, logging 41 tackles, including 14.5 TFL and 8.5 sacks with 4 pass breakups and a forced fumble.
This past season, Cox played in 8 games before he was kicked off the team by Billy Napier. In his final collegiate season, Cox posted 35 tackles with 8 TFL and 2 sacks.
