Holding opponents to 320.2 yards per game, the Auburn defense has allowed a total of 86 points in five games (17.2 points per game). Led by junior Tyrone Truesdell, the Tigers have four players with at least two sacks.
Known for his work with mobile quarterbacks, Gators head coach Dan Mullen has had to do a lot of adapting on the fly since redshirt junior Kyle Trask took over for injured classmate Feleipe Franks.
Averaging 4.4 yards per carry, the Gators are running for about 142 yards per game. Senior Lamical Perine is the team’s leading rusher with 197 yards, but sophomore Dameon Pierce has totaled 158 yards on 28 fewer carries.
While Auburn will be the first ranked opponent the Gators have faced, Florida will already be Auburn’s third ranked foe of the year. Opening their season with a 27-21 win over No. 13 Oregon at AT&T Stadium, the Tigers also defeated No. 25 Texas A&M on September 21.
Kickoff between Florida and Auburn is scheduled for 3:30PM ET on Saturday and will be aired as part of the SEC on CBS.
