Chris Doering wants to see Anthony Richardson make more plays himself. The “SEC This Morning” co-host discussed the impending Sunshine Showdown between Florida and Florida State on Friday.

According to Doering, the Gators QB will need to step up and take responsibility for the ball.

“What I need to see from Anthony Richardson is a little bit of selfishness,” he said. “Sometimes you just have to take the ball and make the plays when you’re the best athlete on the field.”

Richardson and the Gators have had a season of both really high and really low moments. The high moments kicked off a season-opening win over No. 7 Utah, and a 41-24 whooping of Texas A&M, while the low moments included  Florida’s 26-16 home loss to then-No. 20 Kentucky, and a very narrow escape against USF. Not to mention a loss to Vanderbilt.

The Sunshine Showdown between Florida and No. 16 Florida State kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
