Napier has not retained any of the 10 on-field assistants from the previous coaching staff. Five on-field coaches of Napier’s staff were hired before the Gasparilla Bowl. Thursday, a report by The Athletic revealed Napier’s top targets for the 5 remaining positions. Napier is reportedly targeting current NFL assistants for the 4 remaining spots on his staff following the hire of Michigan State’s William Peagler.
Robinson played linebacker at Georgia from 2009-12. His defensive coordinator for 3 seasons was Todd Grantham. Robinson got his start as a Georgia grad assistant in 2013, Grantham’s final season as UGA’s defensive coordinator. Robinson was an Ole Miss grad assistant for 2 seasons (2015-16) before reuniting with Grantham at Mississippi State in 2017. The Florida position was Robinson’s first job as a full-time on-field assistant coach. He was promoted to interim defensive coordinator after Grantham’s firing in November.
