South Carolina may be coming off a big road win at Georgia, but that doesn’t mean everybody is picking the Gamecocks to win again this week. For example, FS1 radio host Colin Cowherd.

On Thursday, Cowherd not only predicted No. 9 Florida to win on Saturday, but he thinks the Gators are going to “win comfortably” on the road against the Gamecocks. And part of the reason for that is that Cowherd wasn’t impressed by South Carolina in its double-overtime win at Georgia.

“If you look at the numbers, there were totally dominated in that game,” Cowherd said during “The Herd” on Thursday. “Georgia had twice as many first downs, 200 more yards, dominated time of possession. The difference is, Georgia kept turning the ball over. Last week was an outlier. South Carolina improved to 2-18 in their last 20 against ranked teams.

“Florida’s got a quarterback I didn’t know much about to start the year named Kyle Trask. He’s been great in the last couple of games against LSU and Auburn, those are real defenses. And Florida’s defense is also the better one in this game.”

Cowherd finished his prediction by saying that the Gators will beat the Gamecocks, 30-20.

However, not everybody agrees with Cowherd. ESPN college football expert Phil Steele has Florida on upset alert and thinks South Carolina has a strong chance to notch its second consecutive impressive win.

The Gators are coming off their first loss of the season, as they fell at LSU last weekend. However, Florida has won three of its last four meetings with South Carolina, including last year, when the Gators won, 35-31, in Gainesville, Fla.

Florida and South Carolina are set to kick off on Saturday at noon ET on ESPN.
