Based on some of the speculation out there, whether it’s playing games without fans in the stands or with smaller crowds, playing conference foes multiple times during the regular season, playing regional games only, etc., the 2020 football season could look like something we’ve never seen before.

That could be true not only of college football but of the NFL.

While we may still be weeks, if not months, away from some of the major decisions that are coming down the pipeline, the latest interesting nugget of information comes from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

During a recent appearance on FOX News, the governor said his state is willing to host NFL teams looking for a place to play this fall and even offered up Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as a potential homefield for a professional team in need.

“I’ve already spoken with some of our colleges like University of Florida, they got a great football stadium, The Swamp, that’s not used on Sundays,” DeSantis said. “So, if an NFL team needs a place to land, we could work that out, too.”

This comment comes after Florida and Arizona have both announced they will allow professional sports to resume this week in their respective states.

In Arizona, fans are not allowed to attend any professional sporting events at this time but as the football season approaches, that could obviously change in the weeks and months to come.
