Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators are reeling after yet another loss. The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs hammered the Gators 34-7 Saturday in Jacksonville.

It feels like Georgia is leaving Florida in the dust, as the 2 programs appear on different trajectories. Georgia is headed for the College Football Playoff this year, while Florida and Mullen — currently 4-4 — will be continuing to fight for bowl eligibility.

Mullen was asked several questions about Georgia following Saturday’s loss.

Opening Statement

“Obviously, a tough game for us against a very very good football team. Give them a lot of credit. They do a great job and have very talented players. They play with great effort. They take advantage of opportunities. They play really good team football. Give them a lot of credit.”

Asked about the talent gap between Florida and Georgia

“We were better last year, and they were better this year. What do you think? Last year, we were able to win. This year, we weren’t. That’s where it is.”

On QB Anthony Richardson vs. Georgia’s defense

“Tough situation when you’re playing a great defense like Georgia has, and you give them credit for having some really good defensive guys.”

How good is this UGA defense vs. other defenses he’s seen

“I don’t compare people for anything. I don’t think that’s fair. … I will say this — I think they’re an excellent defense. I think they have some depth and some talent on the field, and I think they play really hard. The coaches put them into position to make plays, and when there’s opportunities to make plays, they make them.”
