Dan Mullen really wants it out there that he’d be a fun guy to go to Las Vegas with.

After seeing the SEC Network’s Peter Burns rank the 14 current head coaches in terms of which coach he would most like to visit take with him on a trip to Las Vegas, Mullen immediately took issue with his ranking at No. 5 — see the tweet below as evidence of that fact.

A few days later, during his first press conference in Gainesville to kick off Florida’s Orange Bowl preparation, Mullen once again referenced Burns’ rankings and the fact that Lane Kiffin is ranked at the top of the list.

“There was the rating system they put out the other day, people they would go to Vegas with him over me, I think I’m a good-time guy though,” Mullen said on Monday. “I have a lot of fun, too. I’m obviously not — what is he? — I may not be Joey Freshwater fun.”

It didn’t take very long for a rival SEC coach to throw out a “Joey Freshwater” reference and if there were odds on which coach would have done it, Mullen likely would have ranked at the top of that list.

For what it’s worth, Mullen and the Gators are set to travel to Oxford next season to take on Kiffin’s Ole Miss program on Oct. 17.

We’ll see if Kiffin makes a mental note of this Freshwater reference and brings it up next fall.
