Dan Mullen appreciates Emory Jones’ response to the last week, not only not starting the game against Georgia, but how he still got in the game and made contributions.

Jones against Georgia was 10-for-14 passing for 112 yards, and chipped in 5 carries for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Mullen shared his thoughts on the SEC coaches media teleconference.

“One of the things you see about Emory … his character, his work ethic, his demeanor is unbelievable,” Mullen said. “… You look at Saturday, very easily as a young guy, you can sit there and say, ‘This is not exactly the situation I hoped to be in right now.’ That was not the case at all. … He came in the game and I thought he played really well. That’s why I have so much respect for Emory.”

Florida fans continue to prefer Anthony Richardson to start, however his flurry of turnovers against Georgia proved to be a concern. The Gators have 4 winnable games down the stretch, so it will be intriguing to see how Mullen manages the playing time of Jones and Richardson.
