Florida is trying to bounce back from its loss to Georgia last week and coach Dan Mullen said the Gators, “have had a great week, the intensity has been great, the focus is there.”

The coach added on the SEC media teleconference, “We have had two great days at practice but that needs to translate it on the field on Saturday.” He’s looking for a homefield advantage in The Swamp this week against Vanderbilt.

Mullen was asked about OL Chris Bleich entering the transfer portal and he said Bleich has family issues at home.

He said a noon kickoff isn’t a problem.

“Not for me, I’ll be there,” he said. “The team will do their part. I will be wide awake, ready to play the game.”

Mullen also commented on injuries to pass rushers Jabari Zuniga and Jon Greenard. He said Zuniga is working to get back, and Greenward has worked all week. Everyone else they feel good about.

Mullen was asked if Ethan White is next in line, and if he’s ever played a player that young on the offensive line.

“I think we have had two freshman start at quarterback we were so banged up one year… injuries happen and determine who things go, the success, etc… you have to be ready to go. Hopefully, those guys respond,” he said. “If Ethan gets in, hopefully he jumps at the opportunity.”

Mullen was also asked about 5-7 SEC teams reaching a bowl game.

“That was a great experience, bowl games are a great experience,” he said. In reality, the bowl experience is a great learning experience, usually learn about a city, there are local things that are tied in with the bowl… The bowls are special… Getting in at 5-7 due to academics… there was no hesitation for us.”
