Desmond Watson turned in a very fan-friendly play early in the third quarter, and his teammates loved it, too.
A big play early in the second half came to Florida when the mammoth defensive tackle Watson, who is listed at 415 pounds on his 6-foot-5 frame, forced and recovered a fumble and ran the ball 9 yards into the red zone for Florida’s offense. After review, Florida got the ball at the South Carolina 12, and scored 3 plays later to make it 31-6.
Watson couldn’t even reach the sideline before he was mobbed by teammates who continued to smack him on the helmet in celebration.
The sophomore is increasingly part of the Florida defense as an impact player, as he’s already appeared in all 9 games this season with 6 starts coming into Saturday.
