Diwun Black had previously announced he would not be attending Florida this fall in a heartfelt message he shared with Gator fans and now the four-star 2019 signee has provided an update on where he will be for the upcoming season.

The Kissimmee, Fla., native plans to play for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Black was rated as the nation’s No. 9 inside linebacker and No. 151 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Black shared the news with the following comment:

“First and foremost I want to thank God through this whole journey. As upset as I am about not reaching my goal of qualifying to attend the University of Florida, I know this is not final. I learned a valuable lesson through this heartache. I know there are so many people that want to see me fail, but you know that’s life. I want to announce that I have signed with Gulf Coast Community College to further my education.”

Don’t be surprised if this setback is only temporary for Black and he ultimately finds his way back to Florida’s Gainesville campus in the near future.
