Doug Nussmeier apparently found a job before his former boss Jim McElwain.

The former Florida offensive coordinator will be the next tight ends coach of the Dallas Cowboys, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Nussmeier was McElwain’s only offensive coordinator in Gainesville, which would explain why no college programs were willing to take him on to run their offense.

Before helping to run the Gators offense into the ground, Nussmeier was on staff at Michigan and Alabama as an offensive coordinator. Florida never ranked higher than No. 11 in the SEC in scoring offense with Nussmeier calling the offense.

Who knows, if he rehabs his coaching image in Dallas as well as former failed Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley, Missouri may too hire Nussmeier to run the offense once Dooley eventually runs it into the ground.
