Emory Jones accomplishes impressive feat not done at Florida since Tim Tebow in 2009

Emory Jones had a big game in a 2-point loss against No. 1 Alabama last week, seemingly putting a stamp on his starting job as Anthony Richardson continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

He had an even better game on Saturday night at The Swamp against Tennessee, completing 21 of his 27 passes for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. Oh, and he also ran 15 times for 144 yards.

That puts him in some rare company. No Florida QB had run for 100 yards and thrown for 200 yards in a game since a guy named Tim Tebow last did it in 2009 vs. Florida State:

As Zach Abolverdi mentions in the tweet, Tebow did it 4 times. This is Jones’s first time, but the season is still young!

Can he continue to put up numbers as the Gators try to challenge Georgia for SEC East supremacy?
