4-star receiver prospect Erriyon Knighton sets new 200m national record
Erriyon Knighton has seen his college recruitment blow up in recent weeks, however, something tells us the recruitment of the Florida native is just getting started.
Already rated as a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle, the Hillsborough High School product has received scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State and Tennessee over the last month.
Well, look for more offers to come flooding in soon for the Tampa native as Knighton just posted a 20.33 200m run. To put that in perspective, his time is a new national record.
The 6-foot, 160-pound Knighton is currently listed as the No. 189 overall prospect and the No. 23 receiver in the nation for the 2022 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
It’s unclear how much speed factors into a prospect’s recruiting ranking but it may be time to reevaluate Knighton’s ranking after his recent performance on the track.

In case you were wondering if his speed translates to the gridiron, here’s your answer — yes, yes it does.

Wow
Holy Shyt, that is fast!
Holy cow! A Man among boys
pulling away from defenders anywhere in Florida is impressive. crazy to think what this kid will be capable of in a couple of years
Explosive player. If he can put on another 15-20lbs ahead of next yr, I think has a chance to be a 5-Star player. He’s definitely got the speed. If he adds more size look out! Gotta put a call in to O for sure! Lol.
Noble, does your phone have a Coach O translation app ? I wish i had a Coach O answering message for those unwanted solicitors
lol….just keep repeating “Geaux Tigahs!!” in a garbled voice the whole time
That’s the kind of speed that will have the U.S. Track and Field suits and coaches hounding him. I hope he doesn’t fall for the okey-doke. He needs to play football to maximize his earning potential.
Coach to his kicker: Do not kick ball to #3, kick it out of bounds and take the penalty
UF’s track and field program has historically been one of the strongest collegiate programs and a selling point for the track/football guys. I know Jeff Demps ran track; not sure about any football guys since.
I kind of remember a WR that went to LSU (maybe Jamarr Chase) that was being recruited by Gators and wanted to run track. I thought he was a sure thing but went to Tigers instead and it seems to be working out pretty well for him. I always thought he was a big miss and he was.
