ESPN’s FPI has a prediction for this weekend’s matchup between Vanderbilt and Florida. The model projects the Gators to have a 88.2% chance of winning this game.
Florida rebounded from an opening week loss to Utah to take down then-No. 22 Tennessee in Week 3. The Gators followed that up with a win over Charlotte but were ousted by Kentucky the next week in Lexington. The Wildcats gave Florida a test of its own medicine, running for 329 yards on 9.1 yards per carry during the 33-14 victory.
Vanderbilt had a promising start to the third season of the Clark Lea era, taking down Hawaii and cruising to a win over Alabama A&M. But, the ‘Dores were humbled in a 36-20 defeat on the road against Wake Forest and then lost a 40-37 shootout to UNLV in Las Vegas. Kentucky and Missouri then both paid visits to Nashville and left with comfortable victories, extending Vanderbilt’s losing streak to four games. Sophomore quarterback AJ Swann did not play against the Tigers, with senior Ken Seals taking over.
Last season, Vanderbilt picked up one of its two conference wins when it upset Florida in Nashville, 31-24.
Kickoff between the Commodores and Gators is set for 4:00 ET on the SEC Network.
