Florida will make the trip to Raymond James Stadium sooner than originally planned.

The Gators announced Thursday that they will travel to Tampa to face in-state opponent USF in 2021 rather than 2023, as was previously agreed upon for the teams’ three-game series. Florida will still host the Bulls in 2022 and 2025.

In the programs’ only meeting, the Gators defeated USF 38-14 in 2010.

The original deal for the series, which was struck in May, reportedly called for all three games to be played in September. Florida’s schedule update did not indicate whether the 2021 game in Tampa is still slated for September.

As noted in the announcement, the Gators have recently made a concerted effort to schedule in-state foes, and they open next season with a game against Miami.
