The Florida Gators baseball team has come a long way.

The No. 2 squad in the country has looked like it pretty much all season, but especially the past month. The Gators have lost just 1 game this postseason (to Texas Tech) all the way back in the Gainesville regional.

The Gators got their act together, won their regional and have since swept through the Supers and CWS to this point. Now, No. 5 LSU stands in their way for the national title, with Game 1 slated for 7 p.m. ET Saturday evening.

Ahead of the opening matchup of the championship series, the Gators released a hype video that overviews the entirety of the Gators’ journey this season. The clip is narrated by former Gators star-turned-coach Mike Rivera.

Check it out below:

While Florida has seemingly breezed through the CWS to this point, the Gators are facing their toughest test of the season Saturday night. Not exactly breaking news here.

For one, the top of LSU’s order is unfair. Dylan Crews, Tommy White and Tre Morgan especially are playing incredible baseball right now. And that’s not even the most dangerous part of this Tigers squad.

No, that honor goes to Paul Skenes, who has been the best pitcher across college baseball for the entirety of the 2023 season. He holds a 1.69 ERA and 209 strikeouts on the season, the most Ks of any pitcher in the country… by 51.

Brandon Sproat is on the mound for Florida to start things off Saturday night. LSU will start Ty Floyd. It’s worth noting that Skenes started against Wake Forest to ensure the Tigers end up in the title series against the Gators. He’ll very likely make an appearance this series, but it’s unclear when.
