Embattled Florida basketball coach Mike White will reportedly soon be looking for a new assistant coach.

Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports and Graham Hall of The Gainesville Sun are reporting that Gators assistant Jordan Mincy is expected to be named the new head coach at Jacksonville.

A Memphis native, Mincy has been on the Florida staff since 2015, following White from Louisiana Tech. According to his Florida bio, he was named to ESPN.com’s “40 Under 40” in the summer of 2020, checking in as the highest-rated assistant coach on the list at No. 7.

During Mincy’s time at Florida, he has coached future NBA players Dorian Finney-Smith, Devin Robinson and Chris Chiozza. Standout guard Tre Mann, who declared for the NBA Draft earlier Wednesday, will almost certainly be added to that list shortly.

Mincy played at Kent State from 2005-09 and got into coaching as a graduate assistant at South Carolina 2009-10.
