Florida basketball improved to 11-5 overall and 3-1 in SEC play with a 71-55 win over Ole Miss on Tuesday night in Gainesville. The Gators’ victory gave head coach Mike White win No. 100 in his UF tenure.

White reached the 100-win milestone in 158 games, becoming the second-fastest Florida hoops coach to 100 wins in program history, behind only Billy Donovan (154 games). No other UF basketball coach has hit triple digits before 170 games. White was a student-athlete at Ole Miss from 1995-99 and returned to Oxford as a Rebels assistant coach from 2004-11.

After falling behind 22-19, the Gators responded by making 9 consecutive field goals to take a 40-28 lead into halftime. Keyontae Johnson led Florida scorers with 15 points, while Kerry Blackshear Jr. came one rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Noah Locke made multiple 3-pointers for the 13th straight game, the longest such streak by a Gator since 1996. While one streak continues, another falls. Scottie Lewis pushed his made free throws streak to 25 before missing in the second half.

White will look to get win No. 101 when Florida hosts No. 4 Auburn on Saturday. That game is set for a 1:30 p.m. ET tipoff on CBS.
