While much of the country is freezing cold due to the latest arctic blast, the NCAA transfer portal is blazing hot, and it’s been one of the biggest stories in December. Established starters are entering the transfer portal looking for other opportunities at other programs.

Florida starting defender Tre’Vez Johnson is the latest to enter the transfer portal. The Florida defensive back announced the news Friday night via his Twitter account.

The Jacksonville native has appeared in 34 games over the last 3 seasons at Florida making 16 starts. During the 2022 season, Johnson appeared in 12 games and made 9 starts. He finished with 26 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 pass breakups and 1 interception.

Johnson had reportedly been considering a transfer for weeks, and he made known his intentions on Friday night.
