Throughout the 2020 season, Florida has dropped a preview “hype trailer” 24 hours before kickoff. The “Chapter 12: One Last Ride” video for the Cotton Bowl is noticeably different from the previous videos.

With UF’s top three pass-catchers – Kyle Pitts, Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes – having opted out for the NFL Draft and No. 4, Jacob Copeland, unable to play after testing positive for COVID-19, the highlight package prominently features the pass-catchers who will be asked to step up if the Gators are going to be able to send Kyle Trask off with a win.

Justin Shorter, Keon Zipperer and Trent Whittemore are among the pass-catchers featured in the hype video. Of that group, Shorter leads the way with 23 catches for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns. The sophomore transfer from Penn State is No. 6 on the team in receiving behind junior running back Malik Davis who has 29 catches for 358 yards. Redshirt freshman running back Nay’Quan Wright, who is also featured in the hype trailer, has 17 catches for 206 yards.

Saturday night’s game between No. 6 Oklahoma and No. 7 Florida is set for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff, airing on ESPN. The Sooners (8-2) are on a seven-game winning streak while the Gators (8-3) are looking to snap a two-game losing skid.
