Florida fans react to Gators unveiling special throwback uniforms for Auburn game
Florida is switching it up in Week 6. On homecoming, which happens to be a top-10 showdown with Auburn this year, the Gators have announced that they will be wearing special throwback uniforms.
The look is from Steve Spurrier’s playing days at UF in the 1960s, similar to what Florida for a 2006 game against Alabama (but this time with a Jumpman logo). Early fan reaction is mostly positive as you can see below:

Not exactly the same unis as ‘66, but seeing Trask in THAT #11… oh man. If he kicks the game winner… 😂 🐊😎

Though some fans are worried, however, that the white helmets bring bad luck. Dan Mullen’s squad went with white helmets last year as part of an all-white look for the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville.
We’ve worn throwbacks only once in 06 vs Bama… it was a win. Plus, uniforms don’t contribute to wins or losses so it really doesn’t matter. Florida won’t win or lose because of a uniform choice.
