The Florida Gators won the SEC East last year before falling to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.

But, this year, media members chose Georgia as the favorite to win the East during SEC Media Days last month in Hoover.

So, can Dan Mullen’s squad prove the media wrong and pick up another SEC East crown? Or, will they take a step back this season?

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) recently projected the Gators’ chances to win all 12 regular-season games. As you can see below, the Gators are favored in every game except 2 (vs. Alabama and vs. Georgia in Jacksonville):

  • Sept. 4 vs. Florida Atlantic: 92.7 percent chance of winning
  • Sept. 11 at South Florida: 89.7 percent chance of winning
  • Sept. 18 vs. Alabama: 24.8 percent chance of winning
  • Sept. 25 vs. Tennessee: 83.8 percent chance of winning
  • Oct. 2 at Kentucky: 67.6 percent chance of winning
  • Oct. 9 vs. Vanderbilt: 96.3 percent chance of winning
  • Oct. 16 at LSU: 52.8 percent chance of winning
  • Oct. 23 vs. Georgia: 37.6 percent chance of winning
  • Nov. 6 at South Carolina: 77.9 percent chance of winning
  • Nov. 13 vs. Samford: 99.4 percent chance of winning
  • Nov. 20 at Mizzou: 70.6 percent chance of winning
  • Nov. 27 vs. Florida State: 81.7 percent chance of winning

Can the Gators pull off a couple of major upsets? We’ll find out soon enough!
