Florida is hosting 5-star receiver Jeremiah Smith this week.

Gators QB commit DJ Lagway joined Smith on his visit to Gainesville on Thursday. He shared a photo of the 2 of them in the Florida locker room during the visit:

Smith is currently committed to Ohio State, but is a Florida native. He attends Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Opa Locka, Florida.

The Gators getting Smith on campus is a big deal as he’s one of the top prospects in the country, regardless of position. Smith is the No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Smith has been committed to Ohio State since December of 2022. However, programs like Florida, Florida State and Miami have continued to recruit him to stay closer to home.

Florida’s 2024 recruiting class is off to a strong start. The Gators already have 4 commitments in this class, which is ranked No. 13 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.
