Florida has re-stocked some of its defensive depth chart thanks to the transfer portal, with a defensive lineman from Memphis, and a linebacker from Ohio State.

Cam’Ron Jackson is coming from Memphis, while Teradja Mitchell is transferring from the Buckeyes, according to On3 Sports. Mitchell entered the transfer portal nearly 3 weeks ago, and was a starter and team captain last year, but saw limited action during the 2022 regular season. Mitchell was at Ohio State for 5 years, and will use his pandemic waiver eligibility year to play next season. He’s appeared in just 4 games this season, which should preserve a redshirt unless he plays in the College Football Playoff.

Mitchell has 64 career tackles with 8.5 tackles for loss.

Jackson made 40 tackles for Memphis this past season after the sophomore played in 12 games. Last year, he played in all 12 games for the Tigers and made 9 tackles, 6 solo, with 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and 1 quarterback hurry.
