Dan Mullen’s Florida coaching staff has had a busy Friday on the recruiting trail.

Hours after flipping Florida State offensive lineman commitment Jake Slaughter, the Gators picked up their second class of 2021 pledge of the day. The latest commitment comes from Lake Mary, Florida product Rocco Underwood, who shared the news on Twitter.

Underwood is listed as both a long snapper and tight end. On the 247Sports Composite, Underwood is rated as a 3-star tight end. Rubio Long Snapping ranks Underwood as the No. 1 long snapper in the class of 2021. According to his 247Sports profile, he was recruited by both special teams coordinator Greg Knox and tight ends coach Tim Brewster. Florida beat and recruiting reporters indicate UF offered Underwood as a long snapper. Underwood is the cousin of former Florida standout punters Johnny and Tommy Townsend.

Underwood has 6 total scholarship offers, including Alabama. He attended Junior Day at UA on March 7. Underwood is commitment No. 22 in Florida’s 2021 recruiting class.
