As another recruiting cycle gets underway, the Florida Gators have wasted no time adding to their recruiting classes.

On Friday morning, though, the focus wasn’t on the 2017 class — it was all about 2018.

Jim McElwain and his staff landed three-star athlete Jalynn Williams, according to 247Sports:

“I’m going to be a Gator,” Williams said. “It was my dream school growing up. They have some older players ready to leave so I could play right away.”

According to the 247Sports composite, the St. Petersburg native is the No. 44 athlete in the class of 2018 and the No. 80 overall recruit from the state of Florida.

Williams is the Gators’ first class of 2018 commitment, though more are sure to be added in the coming weeks.
