Update: Running back commits to Florida, then commits to Syracuse

Update: After Robert Washington announced for Florida on a video via Bleacher Report, apparently he’s now committed to Syracuse. We’ll keep you updated.

The Florida Gators thought they landed their ninth commitment of the 2016 recruiting class.

Four-star running back Robert Washington committed to the Gators over Michigan and TCU, among others, on a video from Bleacher Report, but after the video went public, Washington then committed to Syracuse at a press conference. The 5-10, 210-pound back boasted offers from several elite program in the country, including Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and others.

The North Carolina native has rushed for 5,762 yards and 69 touchdowns in three high school seasons, and he’s the No. 12 overall running back in the 2016 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
