Florida lost its point guard, Tyree Appleby, to the NCAA transfer portal following the 2021-22 season.

But, with new coach Todd Golden coming in, the Gators have been busy in the transfer portal. And, on Monday evening, they landed a point guard through the portal.

As you can see below, Trey Bonham, who spent the last 2 years at VMI, took to Twitter to announce he was committing to the Florida Gators:

Bonham appeared in 29 games for VMI last season, starting all of them. He averaged 13.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 34.8% from 3-point range and 82.6% from the free-throw line.

Will he take over for Appleby as the Gators’ starting point guard under Golden? We’ll see how things play out this coming season.
