Florida is entering a new era under coach Todd Golden, but on Monday evening, the Gators suffered a major loss on the recruiting trails.

4-star 2022 PF Jalen Reed, a California native who had signed with the Gators, is no longer part of the recruiting class.

As you can see below, he took to Twitter on Monday to announce he was reopening his recruitment. The good news, of course, is that he is still considering Florida in his process:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Reed is the No. 16 power forward in the 2022 class and the No. 10 overall recruit from the state of California.

That is certainly a big loss for Golden and the Gators. We’ll see if he ends up in Gainesville still or plays elsewhere this coming season.
