The Florida Gators are working their way toward their spring game, but this week, they suffered a setback on defense, as redshirt freshman LB Brendan Ackerman suffered an injury.
According to Ackerman’s father, Brady, he suffered an ACL injury and will have a long road to recovery.
Brady Ackerman tweeted about his son’s injury on Saturday morning, saying he’s confident the Florida doctors and trainers will help his son recover:

Brendan Ackerman confirmed the news and tweeted that he’d work hard to come back from the injury:
Just gotta get ready to work hard to get my knee right again?

Whether it’s a full ACL tear or a more minor injury is not known at this time, but it does sound like Ackerman will be out for a while.
Ackerman came to Florida as a 3-star linebacker in the 2017 class. He redshirted during the 2017 season.
