Tough break for the Gators Wednesday as Dan Mullen is losing one of his key recruiters leading up to National Signing Day.

According to multiple reports, Ja’Juan Seider’s time in Gainesville is up after only one season with the program. He was retained by Mullen after the former Mississippi State coach was hired by the Gators but is apparently now leaving the school. Penn State’s open receivers position could be in his future, according to FootballScoop.

Seider was hired by Jim McElwain during the last offseason off the West Virginia staff. He was known as an elite recruiter, particularly in South Florida. Seider was the lone staff holdover from McElwain’s staff to be hired on by Mullen.

Under McElwain, Seider was the program’s running backs coach while Mullen moved him to tight ends.
