Florida OL announces plans to transfer after 2 seasons with Gators
Florida will have another spot to fill in its offensive line room.
Jordan Herman, listed as a 6-8, 375-pound redshirt sophomore on the UF roster, announced Sunday that he plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He thanked Billy Napier and offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton for the opportunity to play for the Gators.
“I want to thank Coach Napier and Coach Stapleton for giving a JUCO kid an opportunity of a lifetime and making my dreams come true,” Herman wrote in a note posted on social media. “After talking with my family, the people closest to me, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility remaining.”
Herman transferred to Florida from Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College ahead of the 2022 season. He also had offers from Arkansas State, Houston, Incarnate Word, Missouri State and Pittsburg State.
At UF, Herman logged limited playing time. Last season, he made appearances in UF’s wins over South Carolina and Eastern Washington. According to his bio, Herman’s only 2023 participation came on Sept. 9 against McNeese.
Herman, originally from Fort Mill, South Carolina, has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.
