Florida QB Feleipe Franks on criticism: 'What everyone else thinks isn't really my main concern'
Florida quarterback Feleipe Franks has heard the criticism about his play and, in the past, the outside noise has seemed to affect him.
Now, he says, only the thoughts of the people close to him are what’s important.
“Like I said, everybody is going to have an opinion whether you like it or not,” Franks said on Wednesday during his most recent media availability. “I’m here to win games. I’m here to become the best person, the best player I can be and that is my main focus. What everyone else thinks isn’t really my main concern. This team has my back. Coaches have my back. Family has my back.”
That might be helpful for the signal-caller as there were still a bunch of gripes about his play after the Gators held on to defeat Miami, 24-20, in a sloppy opening game on August 24. Though he finished with 254 yards and two touchdowns on 17-of-27 passing, Franks still had two interceptions that kept the Hurricanes in the game.
Following the off week, Florida is set to host the home opener against UT Martin on Saturday.
