The start of Malik Davis’s career at Florida was very promising, as he ran for 526 yards and 2 touchdowns in 7 games in 2017 before suffering a season-ending injury.

In 2018, he only managed to appear in 3 games before suffering another season-ending injury. Last year, he appeared in 12 games, but was in a severely diminished role.

Heading into 2020, though, Davis will be counted on to do more. And, during a press conference on Wednesday, he said he’s ready to make good on the promise he showed in 2017:

You never want to see a player suffer injuries like Davis has. Hopefully, he’s able to stay healthy all year for the Gators.

If he can look like he did as a freshman in 2017, the Florida offense will have yet another weapon to utilize in their chase for the SEC East crown.
