Mick Hubert decided to step down as the play-by-play announcer of the Florida Gators on Friday. After holding the position for many years, Florida football made a tribute video honoring Hubert on Thursday.

Other than football, Hubert was also the voice of Florida men’s basketball and baseball as well. Before coming to Florida, Hubert graduated from Illinois State University in 1976 and began working at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio as its Sports Director. Hubert won the National Sports Media Association Florida Broadcaster of the Year Award in 2017. He was also inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

The tribute video highlights some of Hubert’s most famous calls throughout his career in Gainesville, including Chris Doering’s catch in the 1993 comeback win over Kentucky. This Gator legend will surely be missed.
