Florida reportedly hiring 'rising star' assistant away from Oklahoma
Florida and first-year coach Billy Napier are amassing quite a staff ahead of the 2022 season. That’s something Napier bargained for before he signed the contract to leave Louisiana for Gainesville.
He’s been busy adding to his support staff, and on Tuesday night, he reportedly hired a rising star in the business.
Per The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, Ty Darlington, a former OL at Oklahoma, is heading to Gainesville to be a quality control analyst at Florida:
SOURCE: Ty Darlington, a former star OL at OU who has been on staff with the Sooners since 2017, is leaving Norman to become a QC at Florida, near where he grew up. Darlington was extremely well-regarded by the OU staff as a rising star in the business and has helped coach QBs.

Though Darlington didn’t mention Florida, he did reveal in a Twitter post late on Tuesday that he was leaving Oklahoma:

Per Feldman, Darlington had been with the Sooners since 2017, so this is a big change for him. We’ll see if his star continues to shine with the Gators.
