Florida receivers coach Keary Colbert is headed to the NFL, according to a report.

That’s per On3’s Matt Zenitz, who reports that Colbert is expected to join the Denver Broncos’ coaching staff. Colbert is the 3rd Florida assistant coach in the last 2 days to join the NFL ranks.

On Wednesday, defensive coordinator Patrick Toney and tight ends coach William Peagler both reportedly agreed to deals with the Arizona Cardinals.

Colbert has been a college football coach since 2013. This will be his 1st stint in the NFL as a player. Prior to arriving at Florida, he worked in multiple roles on Clay Helton’s staff at USC from 2016-21. He’s also worked for Alabama and Georgia State.

As a player, Colbert had a nice NFL career before making the move into coaching. He was a 2nd round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft and played for 4 franchises from 2004-09.

Florida’s receivers battled injuries a year ago. Ricky Pearsall led the team with 661 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Gators scored just 18 receiving touchdowns on the year, which was tied for 11th in the SEC.
